Cast your votes for Upstate high school girls athlete of the week

Here are the finalists for Upstate high school girls athlete of the week from May 13-19. Voting will end at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Last week’s fan favorite was Byrnes softball player Kaylee Hannon.

Ayanna Hunt, Westside: Hunt won shot put and discus at the Class AAAA track and field state championship meet.

Miah Johnson, Riverside: Johnson won the 800 meters and 1600 meters in Class AAAA track and field state championship meet.

Kinsley Kay, Belton-Honea Path: Kay pitched a complete game in a 5-1 win against Palmetto for the Class AAA Upper State championship. In seven innings, she allowed five hits, all singles, while striking out six and walking one. 

Halle Tompkins, Palmetto: Tomkins pitched a four-hit shutout with nine strikeouts as Palmetto beat Woodruff, 6-0, in a Class AAA Upper State finals elimination game.

Alina Uguz, Christ Church: Uguz won high jump and triple jump at the Class A track and field state championship meet.
