South Carolina baseball's journey to the NCAA Super Regionals begins Friday, when the Gamecocks face James Madison in the Raleigh Regional, hosted by top-seeded NC State.

The No. 3 seed Dukes (34-23) have not been in the NCAA tournament since 2011, whereas the No. 2 seed Gamecocks (36-23) are looking to advance to the Super Regional for the second consecutive season. The last time these two teams met in the tournament was in 2008. South Carolina is 9-1 against JMU.

South Carolina's game against JMU is at 2 p.m. Friday (ESPN+, subscribe here) at Doak Field.

South Carolina baseball vs James Madison prediction in NCAA regional bracket

South Carolina 8, James Madison 4: South Carolina entered the SEC tournament on a six-game losing streak before turning it around to advance to the semifinals. Heading into Raleigh Regional, it appears momentum is still with the Gamecocks, though they will need to play sharply and consistently against a skilled JMU team. The strength of South Carolina's schedule and its more experienced team gives it the edge against the Dukes.
