2 Greenville restaurants to close this week after serving families for years
Two of Greenville's staple restaurants will close this week, one after a nine-year run and another that withstood several generations.
Bacon Bros. Public House on Pelham Road announced that Friday will be its last day serving customers with its farm-to-table dining concept, after nine years of operating.
Director of operations Jason Callaway said the decision to close was not easy and one that came after two years of adjusting to a change in the cost of goods, a more competitive employment market and a shift in people’s dining patterns.

The Open Hearth has been feeding Greenville families for more than six decades and will close Thursday.
The longstanding restaurant with a menu that has evolved over the years opened in 1959 on Wade Hampton Boulevard.
The Open Hearth owners withstood the pressures and changes of the COVID-19 pandemic but ultimately made the decision to close on its own terms, Jimmy Melehes said in an interview with The Greenville News.
