'High-end' cocktail bar proposed for downtown Greenville
The concept would add to the offerings at Camperdown Plaza
A high-end cocktail bar could be coming to Camperdown Plaza, pending approval by the Board of Zoning Appeals.
The concept, which in documents filed with the city, was listed as “The Cocktail Company,” would bring a “high-end cocktail bar” to Greenville’s downtown. The cocktail bar would be located at 355 S. Main St., inside Falls Tower at Camperdown Plaza, and offer seating inside and on an outside patio.
Plans include offering craft cocktails, with a focus on “top-shelf bourbon,” charcuterie boards with cured meats, fruits, breads, cheeses, crackers, vegetables, nuts, jams and other spreads, application documents said.
The concept is the latest from entrepreneur, Howard Dozier. Dozier recently opened Cowboy Up at Judson Mill and Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar, the creative milkshake concept across from Fluor Field.
Dozier had been considering bringing a finer cocktail bar experience to Greenville for over a year, but had yet to find a suitable venue, he said. With the announcement of the Peace Center’s new live music venues in September, he saw great potential in Camperdown.

Plans call for creating a vibrant space for a nice glass of wine or champagne or cocktail after work or before or after dinner or a show, Dozier said. The Cocktail Company would feature live acoustic music on weekends but otherwise would strike a balance between elegant and relaxed.
“It’s for the person that doesn’t want the nightclub scene, but also doesn’t want a quiet restaurant,” Dozier said.
Tentative hours of operation were listed as 4 p.m. – midnight Sunday – Wednesday; 4 p.m. – 2 a.m. Thursday and Friday; noon – 2 a.m. Saturday.
The aim is to “enhance downtown Greenville with a relaxed place to get a top-notch cocktail after work, after dinner or before a nearby event,” documents said.
The city’s Board of Zoning Appeals will review proposed plans at its meeting on Nov. 10.
