At Home with Linda and Frank O'Brien -- Luxury at Legacy Park
When Frank and Linda O’Brien were presented with an opportunity to buy a lot and build a luxury home facing Legacy Park, they hesitated. They already lived nearby in Hollingsworth Park and weren’t looking to move.
But after a few months of deliberating, the O’Briens decided to undertake building their new home.
Linda’s initial floorplan sketches were developed and finalized by architect Karen Kistler of Project Plus. The O’Briens’ builder, Reed Construction, made the process smooth from start to completion, with clear communication and quality project management.

When it came to designing the interiors of the home, Jeanie Gilmer, Linda’s twin sister and interior designer for over 25 years, provided advice at each step. Every detail of the home conveys thoughtful collaboration between the sisters.
The traditional, white-painted brick exterior contrasts the modern black-framed windows, which gives a hint of the contrasts inside the home. Double glass front doors and spacious windows fill the 11-foot-high rooms with natural light by day and by night, the spaces are cloaked in privacy as hidden blinds drop down automatically.
To incorporate Linda’s love of bold color, Jeanie drew inspiration from Collins Interiors of Texas, whose designs use neutral palettes with intentional use of color in the details.
Taj Mahal quartzite and white oak custom cabinetry take center stage in the kitchen while the white living room's colorful artwork, curated book stacks, and custom pillows add purposeful punches of color. Surrounding rooms are cloaked in Thibault wallpaper, dramatic drapery, and designer light fixtures, which create an intentional flow from room to room.
The O’Briens enjoy entertaining friends and family in their luxurious, parkside home.
