MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. — New apparel provider, new look for Auburn football?

After donning Under Armour for the last 18 years, the Tigers announced in April an upcoming switch to Nike as their official outfitter for their athletic teams. The change will officially take effect next summer, as Auburn's current deal with Under Armour is set to run through June 2025.

"We're always considering everything," athletics director John Cohen said Tuesday at SEC Spring Meetings when asked about the potential for alternate uniforms. "But we also want to pay homage to the great tradition of our sports, especially football. We have an iconic uniform, and we need to make sure that, again, we pay homage to that."

The contract details for Auburn's new deal with Nike have yet to be made public. Recent records request from the Montgomery Advertiser were declined because the Tigers Unlimited Foundation, an independent and non-profit corporation, was the entity Nike entered into an agreement with, according to AL.com. As a non-profit organization not directly connected to the university, the foundation's records, including the contract, are not subject to open records requests.

"I'm pleased with where we are," Cohen added. "We had a wonderful partnership with Under Armour for 18 years. We won championships wearing Under Armour gear, and we feel fortunate that they're part of our history. But we had to make the best decision we could for Auburn University, and we feel like we did."
